Title 24 Part 6

California Title 24; T24; Acceptance Testing Technician; ATT

California Title 24, Part 6 is the state's building energy code and the most demanding lighting-controls code in the United States. Beyond mandating occupancy, daylight, and dimming controls, it uniquely requires acceptance testing by a certified Acceptance Test Technician before inspection sign-off. The 2025 edition took effect January 1, 2026.

What it is

'Who can test' is the conversion question: acceptance testing is documented field verification by a certified ATT employed by a certified Acceptance Test Employer — no certified testing, no sign-off. Answering candidly (certified, independent, not your vendor) turns a code query into a coordination conversation.
