LED Driver Centralization

Remote LED drivers; centralized drivers

LED driver centralization moves power conversion and current regulation out of each fixture into shared, serviceable, redundant power supplies in accessible racks or enclosures. Low-voltage lighting never eliminates LED drivers — LEDs always require current regulation — but centralization removes the leading fixture failure point from the ceiling.

What it is

LEDs are current-driven devices; regulation relocates, it never disappears. The per-fixture driver is the number-one failure point against L70 LED life of 50,000–100,000+ hours, so pulling drivers into accessible racks changes the maintenance model.

This page exists to correct the legacy 'low voltage doesn't require LED drivers' claim — candor is the ranking play, because engineers test this page against physics.
